New Video and Single - Lungs Are Burning

The video, directed by Halifax filmmaker Jason Levangie (Shut Up & Colour Pictures), delivers a passionate performance by Martin, combined with whimsical illustrations by Montreal-based artist Nicole Aline Legault. The swirls, effects and textures throughout this passion piece offer viewers a preview into the artistic direction of “Impossible To Hold”, Martin’s forthcoming album, slated for an early 2018 release.

Fortitude Magazine UK has hailed “Lungs Are Burning” as “an atmospheric track which combines echoing beats with beautifully resonating guitars.  The track was written in response to the rising Fentanyl drug crisis affecting thousands in Canada, which gives it even more potency.”  For her Canadian tour dates, Christina supports the work of The Centre For Addiction and The Mental Health Foundation to increase engagement and awareness.  “I lost a brother who lived in Toronto to an opioid overdose in 2013”, says Martin.  “I was heartened that Jason thought to include the Toronto skyline in this video.  Had I not lost my brother, I don’t know if I could have written this song. Sometimes you have to lose really big to fully empathize with other people’s suffering.”
